THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GALLIC VICTOR (C Zackey) jumped slow, losing one length. b) ARBITRATION (JP van der Merwe) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 1300m MENTE ET MANU (R Fourie), which showed a tendency to over race, raced in restricted galloping room for a number of strides on the inside of KING'S QUEST (C Orffer), which was immediately directed outwards to relieve the pressure. b) MY BESTIE (C Little) raced wide without cover on the turn and into the straight. c) In the concluding stages, UNITED FRONT (S Veale), which was attempting a narrow run between KING'S QUEST (C Orffer), which rolled in marginally and DISTRICT MASTER (*N Yuen), which shifted out slightly and was straightened, was steadied and made contact with the hindquarters of DISTRICT MASTER (*N Yuen). As a consequence, Jockey S Veale was unable to ride UNITED FRONT to the finish. d) ARBITRATION (JP van der Merwe) was hanging out in the latter stages. e) MENTE ET MANU, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised.
