The start of this race was delayed due to the late arrival of the horses at the start and the equipment on the runners having to be checked.
THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) DANEGELD (M Thackeray) lost 1 length.
b) PRINCESS TRIPPI (S Hlengwa), OVERNIGHT (C Habib) and A M C LANCE (S Moodley) lost 2 lengths.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (JN) :
a) At the 1100m PRINCESS SHELLY (C Zackey) ducked out sharply, raced wide and without cover around the turn and raced detached from the field throughout. In view of the performance of this filly, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. The Stipendiary Board has exercised the provisions of Rule 49.7, and this filly is suspended pending a Veterinary Certificate prior to its next racing engagement.
b) PRINCESS TRIPPI (S Hlengwa), FLEUR DE LING (R A Venniker) and SARGASSO SEA (D Daniels) raced green.
c) DAISY ROCKER (J Jacobs) which raced green, hung in from the 300m.
d) In the concluding stages OKLAHOMA GIRL (T Godden) and SAUDI SWEEP (M Yeni) came together and brushed.
e) In view of the performance of A M C LANCE (S Moodley) which was not persevered with, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. The Stipendiary Board has exercised the provisions of Rule 49.7, and this filly is suspended pending a Veterinary Certificate prior to its next racing engagement.
f) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning OKLAHOMA GIRL, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this filly is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Suspension dates (20.10.2025 - 18.12.2025). Trainer M D Miller was advised.
g) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning SAUDI SWEEP, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this filly is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Suspension dates (20.10.2025 - 18.12.2025). Trainer L W Goosen was advised.
h) OKLAHOMA GIRL (T Godden), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M D Miller was advised (SP).
