The start of this Race was delayed due to the late scratching of PADDY'S LEGACY and GILDED AGE which were injured in the stalls. PADDY'S LEGACY and GILDED AGE reared in the stalls, were removed, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and withdrawn. BLACK EIGHT lost 2 lengths. MINISTER WITHOUT jumped out sharply dislodging Jockey Schwarz. In deciding what action to take against this horse, the Board considered that it was this gelding's first run at this course and therefore it would have been unaccustomed to the unique positioning of the rails. Accordingly, Trainer Spies was advised to re-school. In view of the Starter's report with regard to PADDY'S LEGACY and GILDED AGE, the starting stall certificates for both these geldings are withdrawn and they were suspended for a period of 7 days and until such time as they prove tractable with companions. PADDY'S LEGACY and GILDED AGE may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Assistant Trainer Lunn acting on behalf of Trainer van Vuuren and Trainer Lafferty were advised, respectively. Jockey Dillon reported that SWEET CHIN MUSIC choked up in the running. CAPTAINS FORT was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. ELEGANTLY SEXY raced fitted with a cornell collar. Vet: SWEET CHIN MUSIC - not striding out right hind. Scratched: TEXAS FIZZ - no transport. PADDY'S LEGACY and GILDED AGE - injured in the stalls; withdrawn by the Veterinary Surgeon.
