THE STARTER REPORTED: a) REPETITION (M Yeni) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) REPETITION (M Yeni) was hanging in from the 250m and had to be corrected. b) When questioned regarding the performance of NOBLE HERO (S Moodley), which shortened in the betting from 25/2 to 7/2 shortly before the start, Trainer D McLachlan told the Stewards that his stable had not supported this gelding in the betting and that he was pleased with its performance today. The Stewards reviewed Jockey S Moodley's riding and were satisfied that NOBLE HERO had been ridden on its merits. However, Jockey S Moodley appeared before the Board and was reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts to the finish as he had ceased with his riding in the concluding stages. Trainer D McLachlan advised the Stewards that he will report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding of his return to the stables. c) COCO'S HERO, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
