THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GNARLY (S Veale) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) GALLIC FORGE (L Mxothwa) failed to parade in front of the grandstand and proceeded directly to the start. Trainer J Crawford was advised that should this gelding fail to parade in future engagements, he may be suspended. b) THE NIGHT FERRY (*S Bungane) proved difficult proceeding to the start and had to be led, riderless. Trainer H Brown was advised that should this gelding behave in a similar manner in future engagements, he may be suspended. c) THE NIGHT FERRY (*S Bungane) proved difficult to settle in the early stages. d) COSMIC RHYTHM (O Noach) had to be ridden along in the early stages to hold its position. e) Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with ASTRONOMICAL BOY and he did not persevere with his riding leaving the 100m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. f) PRINCE OF TIBET, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer E Steyn was advised.
