THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PEPPER TREE (KJ Lihaba) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) BOOM BOOM (C Murray) stumbled leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) PEPPER TREE (KJ Lihaba) commenced to give ground to the field from the 300m. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. b) DAMOVA (R Fourie) shifted in away from the crop from the 200m. c) Jockey M Yeni reported that he felt something amiss with KISS OF FIRE. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. d) Jockey C Murray was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that as the rider of BOOM BOOM he misused his crop by striking BOOM BOOM more than 12 times (15) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Jockey C Murray signed an admission of guilt and was fined R7500,00. e) HAZY DAZY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Spies was advised.
