THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) SASSY LASSIE (K Matsunyane) jumped inwards leaving the stalls.
b) MRS WONDERFUL (L Nhlapo), INTO DANCING (*T Mayhew), KENSAL GREEN (P Mxoli) and GALAXY QUEEN (C Zackey) were slow into stride.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) MRS WONDERFUL (L Nhlapo) failed to muster speed and trailed the field throughout. Thereafter, Jockey L Nhlapo reported that he felt something amiss with this filly in running.
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
b) Jockey S Moodley (SPIRANAC) did not persevere with his riding from the 200m. Thereafter, Jockey S Moodley reported that he felt something amiss with this filly in running.
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
Trainer C Dawson was requested to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of SPIRANAC on return to stables.
c) Jockey K Matsunyane (SASSY LASSIE) did not persevere with his riding in the concluding stages. Thereafter, Jockey K Matsunyane reported that he felt something amiss with this filly in running.
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
d) In view of the performance of LUCKY CHANCE (K A Brewer), (distance 19,00 lengths, betting 40/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
e) Jockey G Lerena reported that he felt something amiss with WITCHING HOUR in running.
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
f) DUCHESS OF PALOMA (C Murray), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
