THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DANCEWITHDIAMONDS (G Behr) was fractious in the stalls, taken out and reloaded. b) IONA CASTLE (S Veale) was restless in the stalls. c) FUTURE JAZZ (JP van der Merwe) and CALL ME SECRET (S Khumalo) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) After being saddled, MALIBU BLITZ (C Murray) slipped its bridle, which had to be replaced before this filly could enter the parade ring. b) Approaching the 400m CALL ME SECRET (S Khumalo) was steadied when close to heels of SPIRIT OF NICAL (L Mxothwa). Thereafter, CALL ME SECRET (S Khumalo) was directed inward and into clear running at the 250m. c) MISS SMILEY (C Orffer), which had difficulty securing clear running between the 400m and the 250m, was hanging out in the latter stages. d) VIXENS WAR (C Little) was hanging out from the 400m and had to be corrected on a number of occasions. e) At the 200m SEVEN NO TRUMP (R Fourie) was steadied and directed outwards when unable to secure clear running between MALIBU BLITZ (C Murray) and TAYLOR'S VERSION (A Domeyer). f) Jockey C Habib reported that MON PAPILLON made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. g) Jockeys JP van der Merwe (FUTURE JAZZ) and D Ashby (ROYAL DESIRE) reported that they felt something amiss with these fillies. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. h) In view of the report from the Starter regarding DANCEWITHDIAMONDS (G Behr), this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable to load on terms with a companion. (Suspension dates: 03/11/2025 to 09/11/2025 inclusive) DANCEWITHDIAMONDS may not be presented for re-passing during this period. i) In view of the report from the Starter regarding IONA CASTLE (S Veale), Trainer J Crawford will be advised to have this filly re-schooled prior to her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. j) CALL ME SECRET, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
