THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TANZANITE (C Habib) and MEDITERRANEANFLAME (MK Katjedi) were stubborn loading. b) SOMBREUIL (M Yeni) was nervous and reared in the stalls. c) CHEEKY CRANBERRY (R Fourie) and FRENCH ROMANCE (C Little) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (11h44) b) ZARA DIVA (*N Nastili) refused to parade in front of the grandstand and proceeded directly to the start. Trainer K Mitchley was advised that should this filly behave in a similar manner in future engagements, it may be suspended. c) ZARA DIVA (*N Nastili) raced wide without cover on the turn and into the straight. d) MEDITERRANEANFLAME (MK Katjedi) was carried sharply inwards by FRENCH ROMANCE (C Little), which was in turn carried inwards by TANZANITE (C Habib), which raced green and shifted inwards sharply at approximately the 200m. e) At the 100m ELUSIVE BOMBA (*G Dookhit) was steadied in anticipation of SOMBREUIL (M YENI) taking up his running on his inside. Apprentice G Dookhit appeared before the Board and was advised to ride his horse out fully when there are no circumstances preventing him from doing so. f) CHEEKY CRANBERRY (R Fourie) raced green. g) Jockey M Yeni (SOMBREUIL) and Apprentice N Nastili (ZARA DIVA) reported that they felt something amiss with these fillies. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. h) CHEEKY CRANBERRY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised.
