THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LOWVELD LILY (C Orffer) and ELECTROMAGNETISM (A Domeyer) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start LOWVELD LILY (C Orffer) was brushed outwards by GIMME WHAT I WANT (JP van der Merwe), which shifted out leaving the stalls. b) At the 350m STORMWATCH (C Murray), which was initially directed out towards the outside running rail, was carried out by KEUKENHOF (S Moodley), which shifted out and was immediately straightened. c) LOWVELD LILY (C Orffer) was hanging out from the 200m. d) In view of the performance of ANOTHERDANCEFORME (R Fourie), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of ANOTHERDANCEFORME Jockey R Fourie told the Stewards that this filly was hanging out on the turn and had not responded to his riding in the straight. He could offer the Stewards no further explanation. Trainer AC Greeff was also questioned and could provide no explanation, other than that the filly may not have travelled as well as he had thought. He will report back should he find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables. e) Jockey A Domeyer reported that ELECTROMAGNETISM took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. f) PRINCESS OF GAUL, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer DM Kannemeyer was advised. (TJ) g) LOWVELD LILY, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised.
