THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BAHAMIAN BEAT (L Mxothwa) was stubborn loading. b) SMIDDIEBURN (K Minnie) was stubborn loading and fly-jumped leaving the stalls. c) ELUSIVE BLACK (C Zackey) rushed the front gates d) GLOBAL ZEE (MK Katjedi) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (11h51) b) MISS TAKES (M van Rensburg) was hanging in and took a number of awkward strides between the 300m and the finish. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Trainer WGC Miller was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables. c) RIVER FERN (*B Soodoo) was hanging in from the 250m. d) Jockey C Little reported that MAGNUS THE GOOD made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) Jockey X Ndlovu reported that NORSE WARRIOR changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. f) In view of the performance of AMERICAN EAGLE (W Agrella), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. g) ELUSIVE BLACK, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer DG Smith was advised.
