THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GALLIC VICTOR (C Zackey) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) DIVE BOMBER (O Noach) proved difficult proceeding to the start and was led, riderless, by a Handler, causing a delay. When interviewed regarding DIVE BOMBER's reluctance to proceed to the start, Trainer L Woodruff advised the Stewards that she intends to make use of a lead pony in future engagements. She was advised that should this gelding behave in a similar manner in future engagements, he may be suspended. b) HEAL AND SOUL (L Mxothwa) and COCO'S HERO (G van Niekerk) brushed leaving the 400m. c) The saddle on ARIOVISTUS slipped back in running, placing Jockey C Orffer at a disadvantage. This was confirmed on the patrol film. d) Jockey C Orffer reported that ARIOVISTUS felt uncomfortable in its action. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) Apprentice S Bungane (TWILIGHT WARRIOR) dropped his crop at the 250m. f) ARBITRATION (JP van der Merwe) raced in isolation on the outside of the track in the straight. g) COCO'S HERO, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J Crawford was advised. (SC) h) ARBITRATION, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer G Terzi, acting on behalf of Trainer SJ Snaith, was advised.
