THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MRS SHACKLETON (*G Dookhit) was restless in the stalls and jumped awkwardly. b) BLACK PATH (*S Valjalo) and CHAMPAGNE MAC (*DD Louw) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Apprentice G Samo-Burthia (BLACK PATH) was dislodged and injured during the canter past. A replacement Rider was sought and weighed out and BLACK PATH was resaddled, which caused a delay. b) Shortly after the start OZARK (*N Nastili) and WINTERGREEN (*T Mayhew) were momentarily inconvenienced on the inside of EASY LIVING (*V Jodhee), which shifted inwards and had to be corrected. c) At the 150m Apprentice DD Louw (CHAMPAGNE MAC) got his crop stuck in his right-side iron. This placed Apprentice DD Louw at a disadvantage and he was unable to ride CHAMPAGNE MAC to the finish. d) GRAVITY (*S Bungane) was hanging out in the latter stages. e) PALACE GIFT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SW Humby was advised.
