THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) BIG DEAL (M Yeni) and FOUDRE (C Zackey) were restless in the stalls.
b) FUTURE GOLD (G van Niekerk) and ECHO FOXTROT (C Orffer) jumped slow, losing two lengths.
c) GALE WARNING (JP van der Merwe) and PRITTI UNITED (A Fortune) made contact leaving the stalls
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) Approaching the 200m, THESHOWMUSTGOON (*N Yuen), which was hanging in, shifted in and had to be straightened.
Apprentice N Yuen appeared before the Board in the presence of the Academy Riding Master and was reminded of her obligation to report any circumstances that may have affected the performance of her mounts.
b) In the concluding stages MEET THE KING (G Lerena) was awkwardly placed on the inside of BIG DEAL (M Yeni).
c) GIVE IT LALDY (R Fourie) raced green.
d) Jockey A Fortune reported that he felt something amiss with PRITTI UNITED, which shifted out in the latter stages and had to be straightened. Thereafter, he did not persevere with his riding in the concluding stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt.
e) Jockey G van Niekerk reported that he felt something amiss with FUTURE GOLD, which took an awkward stride shortly before the finish. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
f) Jockey G Lerena reported that MEET THE KING was blowing post-race. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
g) In view of the debut performance of ECHO FOXTROT (C Orffer), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
h) FOUDRE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AE Sands was advised. (ZM)
i) GIVE IT LALDY, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer L Woodruff was advised. (TJ)
