THE STARTER REPORTED: a) COWBOY COUNTRY (J Jacobs) and GEORGE'S MAGIC (M Yeni) were slow into stride. b) MOYA WA LALIGA (S Khumalo) lost 3 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (SR) : a) MAR DEL PLATA (K Matsunyane) proved difficult to settle in the early stages. b) NORTHERN WARRIOR (R A Venniker) raced wide around the turn and into the straight. c) At the 150m GEORGE'S MAGIC (M Yeni) rolled in away from LIONS EYE (S Veale) and thereafter was steadied off the heels of NORTHERN WARRIOR (R A Venniker). d) Apprentice N Nastili reported that EMERALD GREEN did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) Trainer N Kotzen was charged with a contravention of Rule 10.5.6.1 in that he failed to notify the Chief Stipendiary Steward within two days that the horse WORLD OF ROYALTY is a gelding. Trainer N Kotzen signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R250 f) CIRCUMBENDIBUS (S Moodley), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
