THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DM) : a) SPANISH FEUD (*M Mbuto) jumped awkwardly outwards leaving the starting stalls and lost 1 length. b) At the 1000m WORLD OF FLOWERS (*T Mayhew) was steadied in anticipation of being awkwardly placed between the inside running rail and the heels of STAMPEDE AHEAD (*K J Lihaba) which rolled in. c) BALTIC ASSAYER (*D D Louw) hung out from the 350m and shifted out. d) Apprentices N Yuen (GLORIOUS BUTTERFLY) and J Botes (ARTIC AL) reported that they felt something amiss in the running with their respective mounts. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) In view of the performance of STAMPEDE AHEAD (*K J Lihaba) (15.30 lengths, 15/10 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer A A Azzie will be asked to report back on the condition of STAMPEDE AHEAD on return to stables. f) ROY'S GRACE (*S Valjalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
