THE STARTER REPORTED: a) WHATASTAR (S Veale) jumped awkwardly outwards, losing one length. b) VIXEN'S WAR (C Little) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) DIBBLE (*S Bungane) proved difficult proceeding to the start and had to be led, riderless, causing a delay. This filly is suspended indefinitely in terms of Rule 93.2.4 until such time as she proves tractable proceeding to the start on a race day. b) VIXEN'S WAR (C Little) over raced in the early stages, raced awkwardly on the turn and thereafter was hanging out in the straight. c) In view of the performance of KEEP WARM (G Wright), which raced wide without cover in the early and middle stages, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) In view of the performances of DESTINY'S DREAM (A Fortune), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. When questioned regarding his decision not to use his crop on DESTINY'S DREAM, Jockey A Fortune told the Stewards that this filly had not settled at the front of the field in the early and middle stages and, as a consequence, had not finished its race off strongly. He further told the Stewards that, in his opinion, had he used the crop on this filly, she would not have responded. The Stewards, having reviewed the patrol film, were satisfied that Jockey A Fortune had shown sufficient vigour and will not be proceeding further with this line of query. e) GIN PALACE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
