THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO DADS DREAM (R A VENNIKER), HEATH HOUSE (G LERENA) AND ONE STATE PROVING STUBBORN LOADING, AS WELL AS THE LATE SCRATCHING OF THEODORE ROOSEVELD (C HABIB).
THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) During the loading process, BUFFALO KING CODY (*S Valjalo) kicked the back gate, resulting in THEODORE ROOSEVELD (C Habib) becoming unruly. THEODORE ROOSEVELD (C Habib) was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and subsequently scratched injured in the starting stalls.
b) DADS DREAM (R A Venniker) was stubborn loading. Trainer R Klaasen was advised to reschool this colt prior to his next engagement (GT).
c) HEATH HOUSE (G Lerena) was stubborn loading. Trainer A P Peter was advised to reschool this colt prior to his next engagement (GT).
d) ONE STATE (S Moodley) was stubborn loading. Trainer A P Peter was advised to reschool this colt prior to his next engagement (GT).
e) STATUS SYMBOL (C Zackey) and NORTHERN EUROPEAN (*T Mayhew) were slow losing one length.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) TURN IT UP (R Fourie) hung in in the concluding stages.
b) EHHFIFTEENKJOE (S Khumalo) tired badly in the concluding stages. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
c) HEATH HOUSE (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
