THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LANDSEER (C Orffer) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) BOUNDLESS LOVE (JP van der Merwe) proved difficult to settle in the early and middle stages. b) After being slow to begin, LANDSEER (C Orffer) shifted out away from and DEVIL A SAINT (G van Niekerk) and had to be steadied away from the heels of BOUNDLESS LOVE (JP van der Merwe). c) At the 350m BOUNDLESS LOVE (JP van der Merwe) had to be checked when tightened for galloping room between KLEIN KAROO (R Fourie), which shifted out slightly away from KEBONALESEDI (C Murray) and DEVIL A SAINT (G van Niekerk), which shifted inwards. After interviewing Jockeys G van Niekerk (DEVIL A SAINT), R Fourie (KLEIN KAROO) and JP van der Merwe (BOUNDLESS LOVE), the Stewards were of the opinion that they could not prefer a charge against any Rider and that this was a racing incident. d) Jockey C Orffer reported that he felt something amiss with LANDSEER. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) KEBONALESEDI, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AE Sands was advised.
