THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE DELAY IN THE PREVIOUS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CRYSTAL GROVE (C Zackey) was slow losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 1000m, CONCORDIA (*S Valjalo) was steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of CAPTAIN SELVIE (G Lerena), which proved difficult to settle in the early stages, rolled in and threw its head up on a number of occasions. Thereafter, CAPTAIN SELVIE (G Lerena) hung in from the 300m. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine CAPTAIN SELVIE. Trainer A P Peter was advised to take the necessary corrective measures to improve this filly's racing manners. b) BLUP BLUP (M K Katjedi) tired badly in the concluding stages. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) Jockey C Murray reported that SEASON'S GREETINGS choked up in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) WESTERN WISHES (K Matsunyane), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M Pandaram advised (MduP).
