The start of this race was delayed due to the reasons stated in the Starters' report below. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process EXAGGERATE (A Mgudlwa) became restless in the stalls and kicked the back gate. This filly was removed from the stalls, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and subsequently withdrawn. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (SR) : a) Shortly after the start WINTER BLESSING (R A Venniker) and PINK LACE (K de Melo) were carried in marginally by MALSHANA MOU (C Zackey) which rolled in when encouraged forward. As a result BERRINGTON BLEW (D Daniels) and SUN IN MY POCKET (C Habib) were steadied in anticipation of being awkwardly placed on the heels of WINTER BLESSING (R A Venniker). Jockey C Zackey appeared before the Board and was advised to be more mindful of the proximity of other runners when shifting ground in races. b) In view of the performance of SASSY LASSIE (*T Mayhew) (10.80 lengths, 100/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) In view of the Starter's report with regard to EXAGGERATE (A Mgudlwa), this filly's starting stall certificate is withdrawn, and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable with a companion. (Suspension dates: 10.12.2025 to the 16.12.2025). EXAGGERATE may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer A Wright will be advised. d) MALSHANA MOU (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer L W Goosen was advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) SOL E SOMBRA raced equipped with cheek pieces (advised 08.12.2025/09h59). b) SASSY LASSIE raced equipped with blinkers and a compression mask (advised 04.12.2025/07h11).
