THE STARTER REPORTED: a) WORLD OF OUR OWN (K de Melo) was stubborn to load. b) RAGNAR THE KING (C Habib) was restless in the stalls. c) GREEN GLOW (C Zackey) and MY BOY LOLLIPOP (*S Valjalo) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DM) : a) TOWN CRIER (T Godden) commenced to hang in between the 400m and the 250m. b) Shortly before the finish RECORD HIGH (C F Dicken) which had come to the end of its run, was momentarily inconvenienced off the heels of EVENTIDOR (*D D Louw) which shifted out away from the crop and WORLD OF OUR OWN (K de Melo) which rolled in marginally. c) Jockey S Veale (EL REY VIENE) reported that this gelding raced with its tongue over the bit. d) Jockeys C Zackey (GREEN GLOW) and C Murray (SPAARNE RIVIER) reported that they felt something amiss with their respective mounts in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Assistant Trainer N Roscoe acting on behalf of Trainer D Kannemeyer will be asked to report back on the condition of GREEN GLOW on return to stables. e) EVENTIDOR (*D D Louw), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
