THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ROLL OF THE DICE (C Habib) was stubborn loading. b) GEORGE HANDEL (*B Soodoo) kicked the back gates in the starting stalls. c) ZATARA MAGIC (C Little) jumped awkwardly. d) HEEMSTEDE (S Khumalo) jumped awkwardly and was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (13h15) b) Permission was granted for ROLL OF THE DICE (C Habib) to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) RICHARDTHEFEARLESS (*G Dookhit) over raced in the early and middle stages and raced wide without cover on the turn and into the straight. d) ZATARA MAGIC (C Little) refused to take the turn, raced wide into the straight and was hanging out throughout. e) HEEMSTEDE (S Khumalo) shifted out away from the crop from the 250m. f) At the 150m MAKHACHEV (M Yeni) was carried slightly inwards by GEORGE HANDEL (*B Soodoo), which shifted in continuously from the 200m. Apprentice B Soodoo appeared before the Boad and was advised to take stronger measures to keep his mounts on a straight course in future races. g) WECANGOALLNIGHT (R Fourie) was hanging inwards and shifted in sharply between the 150m and finish. h) Jockey C Little appeared before the Board and was advised that when making a celebratory gesture, to ensure that it is made in such a way that it cannot be construed as being directed towards his fellow Riders. He was further advised that should he persist with this behaviour, disciplinary measures may be taken. i) ZATARA MAGIC, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer F Jacobs, acting on behalf of Trainer DG Smith, was advised.
