THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (14h52) b) Permission was granted for MIGHTY MAC (Y Ramzan) and JAMES FITZJAMES (*V Jodhee) to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) MIGHTY MAC (Y Ramzan) stumbled shortly after the start. d) WHATEVER NEXT (R Fourie) and POTENT CAPTAIN (JR Syster) were directed outwards to obtain clear running between the 350m and the 200m. e) Jockey M Yeni (GRAND ALLEGRO) did not persevere with his riding from the 200m. Thereafter, Jockey M Yeni reported that GRAND ALLEGRO did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Trainer K Mitchley was advised to report back should she find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables. The Stipendiary Board has exercised the provisions of Rule 49.7, and this gelding is suspended pending a Veterinary Certificate prior to its next racing engagement.
