THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MIKOTO (C Little) jumped outwards, losing one length. b) MISS SMILEY (C Orffer) and LITTLE NIMBUS (G Wright) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) GIMME THE POWER (R Fourie) proved difficult to settle in the early stages. b) Jockey M Yeni reported that LOVE HER MADLY made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. b) Jockey A Fortune reported that he felt something amiss with SEVEN NO TRUMP, which showed a tendency to hang out in the straight. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Jockey A Fortune was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.3 in that he failed to ride SEVEN NO TRUMP out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards. Jockey A Fortune signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1 000.00. In determining penalty, the Stewards took into account that Jockey A Fortune had retained his finishing position. c) KUBU, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C Snaith, acting on behalf of Trainer SJ Snaith, was advised. (SC) JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: a) MIKOTO raced with a compression mask (declared 09h29 on 20251216). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) SEVEN NO TRUMP - examined post-race. Nothing obvious detected. b) LOVE HER MADLY - examined post-race. Abnormal respiratory noise. c) GIMME THE POWER - cast left hind shoe. d) MISS SMILEY - coughing. e) RED TAFFETY - abnormal respiratory noise. SCRATCHED: a) BLUE LAGOON - abnormal blood count. Rule 53.5 applied (declared 16h45 on 20251215).
