THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BAHAMIAN BEAT (R Fourie) and SMIDDYBURN (A Fortune) were stubborn loading. b) WARRIOR'S EDGE (C Little) was stubborn loading, nervous in the stalls and thereafter, was slow into stride. c) DINERO (E Webber) was stubborn loading and jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (12h27) b) Permission was granted for WARRIOR'S EDGE (C Little) to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) Jockey C Little reported that he felt something amiss with WARRIOR'S EDGE. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) In view of the report from the Starter regarding WARRIOR'S EDGE (C Little), Trainer JP Nel will be advised to have this gelding re-schooled prior to his next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. e) SMIDDYBURN, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
