THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MASTER BUDDY (C Maujean) and PANGORO (L Nhlapo) were stubborn loading. b) STAY TUNED (M Michel) was restless in the stalls and thereafter was slow into stride. c) GUNBOAT (*KJ Lihaba) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey G Lerena reported that HAMMER BLOW made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. b) Jockey M Michel reported that she felt something amiss with STAY TUNED. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) In view of the performance of TERRENCE (C Habib) (Betting 6/1; Distance 13 lengths), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) CONTINENTAL KING, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
