THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CITY OF PORT LOUIS (M van Rensburg) was nervous in the stalls. b) GREY WARRIOR (R Fourie) was nervous in the stalls and slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (11h56) b) NUCLEAR POWER (*G Dookhit) raced wide on the first turn. c) At approximately the 200m, MONT TREMBLANT (M Yeni) had to steady when awkwardly placed between PICK A POMODORO (L Mxothwa), which shifted in slightly away from the crop and CITY OF PORT LOUIS (M van Rensburg), which was hanging out from the 300m. d) In view of the performance of FORT IMPREZA (C Habib), which was not persevered with from the 150m, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Jockey C Habib appeared before the Board and was reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts to the finish. Trainer DA McKenzie was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables. The Stipendiary Board has exercised the provisions of Rule 49.7, and this gelding is suspended pending a Veterinary Certificate prior to its next racing engagement. Trainer DA McKenzie was advised. e) CITY OF PORT LOUIS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer WGC Miller was advised.
