OWLINTHETREE was slow, losing 1 length. In view of the performance from OWLINTHETREE, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. DIAMOND DANCER raced wide and without cover around the turn. Jockey Kennedy reported that thereafter he felt something amiss with this horse in running. Trainer Peter was requested to report back on the condition of DIAMOND DANCER on return to stable, FACT was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. When questioned regarding the improved performance of FACT, Trainer Marwing could offer the Board no suitable explanation. His attention was drawn to the Rules pertaining to In and Out Running. Vet: OWLINTHETREE and DIAMOND DANCER - examined post-race, nothing obvious detected.
