THE STARTER REPORTED: a) On arriving at the start, BANDMASTER (C Habib) and RUSSIAN EMPIRE (J Gates) were examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and were withdrawn, causing a delay. b) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (15h29) b) Permission was granted for WAR LAUNCH (M van Rensburg) and WORLD PHAROAH (M Yeni) to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) Shortly after the start, NOTORIX (*V Jodhee) was bumped inwards by XPLICIT CONTENT (MK Katjedi). d) NOTORIX (*V Jodhee) was baulked between the 300m and 200m and thereafter had to be switched in to obtain a clear run. e) At the 200m KING RAHUL (S Khumalo) was steadied momentarily off the heels of MUNCHKIN (*G Dookhit), which was carried in by WISSA'S ON FIRE (C Zackey), which was hanging out from the 250m. Jockey C Zackey appeared before the Board and was advised to be mindful of his obligation to straighten his mounts timeously when shifting ground. f) Jockey M Yeni reported that WORLD PHAROAH changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this this gelding. g) Jockey L Mxothwa reported that he felt something amiss with STRING OF LIGHTS. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. h) WISSA'S ON FIRE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer WGC Miller was advised.
