On arrival at the start ONE ARMED BANDIT was subject to a late Veterinary examination and subsequently withdrawn. This led to a delay of the start of this Race. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) INTREPID (K de Melo) jumped awkwardly with his head up losing 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DA) : a) IN THE BAG (T Godden) hung out from the 350m. b) Jockey K Matsunyane reported that CLAYMORE did not stride out freely in the running and as a result he did not persevere with his riding in the concluding stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) TOWN CRIER (C Murray), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S H Ferrie was advised (MM).
