THE STARTER REPORTED: a) OH MANDY (W Agrella) kicked the back gates in the starting stalls and jumped slow, losing two lengths. b) MANURIKI (E Webber) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (12h32) b) Permission was granted for INTRO (C Zackey) and OH MANDY (W Agrella) to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) AMANATTO (R Fourie) was hanging inwards from the 300m. d) Jockey E Webber reported that MANURIKI took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) Jockey C Zackey (INTRO) appeared before the Board and was questioned with regard to him pulling his mount up abruptly after the finish line. Jockey C Zackey explained to the Board that he felt there was something amiss with this filly after the finish as she had become unbalanced and, as a consequence, he had gathered his reins quickly. His explanation was noted. f) INTRO, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer DG Smith was advised. (SP) JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: a) E Webber rode MANURIKI.
