DURING THE LOADING PROCESS, PRETTY ANALIA WAS RESTLESS AND BROKE THROUGH THE FRONT GATES. PRETTY ANALIA WAS RESTRAINED BY JOCKEY S KHUMALO, RETURNED TO THE START, WAS SUBJECT TO A VETERINARY EXAMINATION, DECLARED FIT TO RACE AND RELOADED. SIMULTANEOUSLY, SPECIAL STAR (C ZACKEY) BECAME RESTLESS, WAS REMOVED FROM THE STALLS, EXAMINED BY THE VETERINARY SURGEON, PASSED FIT TO RACE AND RELOADED. THESE INCIDENTS CAUSED A DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process, PRETTY ANALIA (S Khumalo) broke through the front gates. This mare was restrained by the Rider, returned to the start, was subject to a Veterinary examination, declared fit to race and reloaded. The starting stall certificate for this mare has been withdrawn. Trainer F Bronkhorst was advised (GT). b) SPECIAL STAR (C Zackey) was restless in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) At approximately the 150m, TOGETHER AGAIN (*B Marx-Jacobson) was brushed in by SPECIAL STAR (C Zackey), which hung in from the 200m. Thereafter, TOGETHER AGAIN (*B Marx-Jacobson) was tightened for galloping room, and as a consequence, Apprentice B Marx-Jacobson was unable to fully assist his mount to the finish line. c) In view of the Starter's report with regard to PRETTY ANALIA, this mare's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn, and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion. Suspension dates: 9 January 2026 to 15 January 2026. PRETTY ANALIA may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer F Bronkhorst was advised. Race 7 contd. d) OPERA FAN (K J Lihaba), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) SPECIAL STAR was ridden by Jockey C Zackey (declared 8 January 2026 at 07H33). b) TOGETHER AGAIN: Apprentice B Marx-Jacobson weighed out at 50kg, only claiming 2kg of his 4kg apprentice allowance as declared. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) SPECIAL STAR blowing post-race. SCRATCHED: a) ALTA CAPITANA insufficient recovery time (Trainer) (Rule 53.5 applies). b) TOP SHELF TEDDY insufficient recovery time (Trainer) (Rule 53.5 applies). c) AMAZON QUEEN under veterinary treatment (veterinary certificate received) (Trainer) (Rule 53.5 applies).
