THE STARTER REPORTED: a) The tongue tie on JET QUERARI (S Naidoo) was re-fitted at the start. b) FLIGHT ENGINEER (M Yeni) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (14h39) b) Shortly after the start PITON DE NEIGE (*B Soodoo) was bumped inwards by JET SET RUN (*W Fourie), which jumped inwards. c) GENERAL PARDON (R Fourie) was awkwardly placed between JET SET RUN (*W Fourie) and GRIFFIN PARK (M van Rensburg), which shifted inwards shortly after the start and was subsequently switched out for a clear run. d) RHYTHM (C Zackey) was awkwardly placed between the inside running rail and GRIFFIN PARK (M van Rensburg) from the 700m and brushed the inside running rail at approximately the 500m. After reviewing this incident, the Board ruled this to be a racing incident and no blame could be apportioned to any Rider. e) Jockey S Naidoo reported that he felt something amiss with JET QUERARI. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. f) In view of the performance of GENERAL PARDON (R Fourie), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. g) PITON DE NEIGE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
