THE STARTER REPORTED: a) REGULATION (R Fourie) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (14h05) b) Shortly after the start MAJOR MASTER (A Domeyer) was taken in behind runners from its outside draw. c) ZEITZ (K de Melo) over raced in the early stages. d) REGULATION (R Fourie) was continually held up for a clear run in the straight when unable to secure clear running between LA PULGA (S Veale) and THE EQUATOR (IRE) (R Piechulek). Thereafter, REGULATION (R Fourie) was directed outwards and into clear running approaching the 150m. e) LA PULGA (S Veale) and THE EQUATOR (IRE) (R Piechulek) brushed shortly before the finish. f) Jockey O Murphy was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.9.2 in that he did not wear a serviceable skull cap of a type approved by the Chief Executive when entering the winner's enclosure. Jockey O Murphy signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R2 500.00 g) OKAVANGO, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised. (SC) h) I SALUTE YOU, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P Muscutt was advised. (TJ) JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: a) Nil. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON HAD NO REPORTS. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
