THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SASSY LASSIE (*T Mayhew) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) PRINCESS OF ALL (C Zackey) jumped awkwardly outwards leaving the stalls. c) PRECOCIOUS (G Lerena) and ELEGANT EDGE (K Matsunyane) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) Shortly after the start, PRECOCIOUS (G Lerena) and ELEGANT EDGE (K Matsunyane) came together and bumped when awkwardly placed between PRINCESS OF ALL (C Zackey), which jumped awkwardly outwards leaving the stalls, and SASSY LASSIE (*T Mayhew), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. c) VARACHINO'S CHAMP (J Gates) hung in throughout. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) PRINCESS OF ALL (C Zackey) took an awkward stride at approximately the 200m. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) MYSTICAL BUTTERFLY (C Habib) hung in in the concluding stages. f) PRECOCIOUS (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) VARACHINO'S CHAMP not striding out left front. b) PRINCESS OF ALL examined post-race, nothing obvious detected. c) SASSY LASSIE cut into right front. d) ELEGANT EDGE not striding out left hind and right front; blowing post-race.
