NKANDLA GOLD (J R SYSTER) LIFTING ITS LEFT FRONT SHOE, WHICH WAS ATTENDED TO BY THE COURSE FARRIER. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CIRCUS LIGHTS (P Mxoli) refused to jump. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Trainer G J Maroun was advised (GT). b) IN THE ETHER (*J Botes) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) SAKETINI (J Mariba) hung out from the 200m, proving difficult to assist and thereafter, shortly after the finish line, ducked in sharply. Trainer F P Habib was advised to take the necessary corrective measures to improve this gelding's racing manners. c) At approximately the 100m, BLINDFIRE (M Michel) was steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of ONE TIGER (R Munger), which was carried out by HIS LORDSHIP (M van Rensburg), which shifted out away from the crop and was immediately straightened. d) In view of the performance of IN THE ETHER (*J Botes), (distance 6,95 lengths, betting 100/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) In view of the performance of MISTY METAL (C Zackey), (distance 8,05 lengths, betting 16/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) Apprentice S Valjalo reported that DEAL MAKER (GB) choked up in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. g) In view of the Starter's report with regard to CIRCUS LIGHTS, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn, and he is suspended until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion on two consecutive Racedays. Suspension dates: Indefinitely. Trainer G J Maroun was advised. h) THERE SHE GOES (A Fortune), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer W H Marwing advised (MduP).
