THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MY BESTIE (R Piechulek) threw its head up leaving the stalls. b) BOUNDLESS LOVE (K Steyn) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (14h20) b) At the 250m NOBLE HERO (G van Niekerk) was steadied when tightened for room between MY BESTIE (R Piechulek) and TWILIGHT WARRIOR (O Noach), which was directed inwards away from the heels of SIGNOR DANTE (L Mxothwa). Jockey O Noach appeared before the Board and was advised to take more care in similar circumstances. c) Jockey S Veale was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that as the rider of WORLD FIRST he misused his crop by striking WORLD FIRST more than 12 times (14) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Jockey S Veale signed an admission of guilt and was fined R6 000,00. d) TWILIGHT WARRIOR, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer L Woodruff was advised. (SC) JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: a) *N Yuen (ETOILEFILLANTE) weighed out at 51.9kgs and only claimed 1kg of her 1.5kg allowance. b) R Piechulek (MY BESTIE) rode +0.5kg (56.2kgs) RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) Nil.
