PRINCESS CHARMER (*D D Louw) refused to load and was subsequently withdrawn by the Starter. Thereafter, SPANISH FEUD (K de Melo) became restless, was released from the starting stalls, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. These incidents caused a delay to the start of this race. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PRINCESS CHARMER (*D D Louw) refused to load. b) SPANISH FEUD (K de Melo) was restless in the stalls. c) DANEGELD (D Daniels) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DA) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) After being slow away PRINCESS SHELLEY (R A Venniker) failed to muster speed despite Jockey R A Venniker's urgings and trailed the field throughout. c) Approaching the 1100m CHASING GOLD (C F Dicken) was switched out and allowed to improve around the field to take up a forward position leaving the 800m. d) CODEWORD (M Michel) hung in, in the final straight. e) In view of the Starter's report with regard to PRINCESS CHARMER (*D D Louw), this filly's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable with a companion. (Suspension dates: 15.01.2026 to the 21.01.2026). PRINCESS CHARMER may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer M N Prinsloo will be advised. f) CHASING GOLD (C F Dicken), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
