THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process JP'S PALACE (C Murray) became restless in the stalls and kicked the back gates. This gelding was released from the stalls, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. b) KANAAL SKATER (C Zackey) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DA) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) JP'S PALACE (C Murray) hung out from the 300m. c) Approaching the 200m KANAAL SKATER (C Zackey) which had shifted in, was carried out by AFRICAN SKYLINE (*D D Louw) which rolled out. d) Apprentice D D Louw reported that AFRICAN SKYLINE did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) Jockey T Godden (BOURBON WARRIOR) did not persevere with his riding from the 300m. Thereafter he reported that he felt something amiss in the running with this gelding. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) IMPOSING (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G van Zyl (Jnr) was advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Nil. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) JP'S PALACE raced without ear muffs (advised 09.01.2026/16h01). b) THAT MY BABY raced without ear muffs (advised 13.01.2026/09h53).
