THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MONEY EXTRACTOR (G van Niekerk) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (17h21) b) Shortly after the start, the stirrup iron of Jockey A Fortune (GIN PALACE) broke, which resulted in him losing his right-side footing. This placed Jockey A Fortune at a severe disadvantage throughout the race and he was unable to assist his mount to the finish. His equipment was examined by the Stipendiary Stewards. c) Shortly after the start, GIN PALACE (A Fortune) and BLACK PATH (K Steyn) made contact. d) SPLASH OF COLOUR (*EJ Muller) was buffeted between ELUSIVE GIFT (M Yeni) and GIVEN TO FLY (A Domeyer) shortly after the start. e) At the 300m BLACK PATH (K Steyn), which was hanging out, shifted out and brushed ELUSIVE GIFT (M Yeni). f) At the 200m MEG'S LEGACY (JP van der Merwe) was directed inwards to obtain a clear run and thereafter, leaving the 100m, was held up for a short distance between the inside running rail and ELUSIVE GIFT (M Yeni). g) BLACK PATH, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
