THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE SURCINGLE ON RUSSEL SQUARE (J PENNY) HAVING TO BE REPLACED AT THE START. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) POMPEII SHIELD (D Schwarz) stumbled leaving the stalls. b) FLOWER ROAD (*B Marx-Jacobson) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) RUSSEL SQUARE (J Penny) and FLOWER ROAD (*B Marx-Jacobson) commenced to give ground to the field from the 400m. c) SCOTT'S GUARD (J R Syster) commenced to give ground to the field from the 400m. Thereafter, Jockey J R Syster reported that SCOTT'S GUARD did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) MASTER SPY (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S G Tarry advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None.
