THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PRICELESS TREASURE (L Mxothwa) was stubborn loading. b) TOTAL ERUPTION (R Fourie) was nervous in the stalls. c) OCEAN FLAME (M van Rensburg) jumped awkwardly inwards and made contact with the right side front gate of the starting stalls. d) NIGHT IN JAPAN (C Maujean) jumped slow, losing one length. e) OCEAN FLAME (M van Rensburg) and MISSOURI FLAME (M Yeni) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (12h20) b) PRICELESS TREASURE (L Mxothwa), MISSOURI FLAME (M Yeni) and NIGHT IN JAPAN (C Maujean) over raced in the early and middle stages. c) OCEAN FLAME (M van Rensburg) was hanging in from the 300m. d) In view of the performance of TOTAL ERUPTION (R Fourie), which was hanging in from the 350m and was corrected at the 100m, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. The saddle on TOTAL ERUPTION (R Fourie) slipped backwards in running. This was confirmed by the Veterinary Surgeon. e) Jockey Y Ramzan did not persevere with his riding of MANURIKI from the 50m. Jockey Y Ramzan appeared before the Board and was reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts out to the end of the race. f) OCEAN FLAME, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
