THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PARENTAL GUIDANCE (R Fourie) jumped slow, losing two lengths and was slow into stride. b) MOODY BLUE (A Fortune) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (14h05) b) AFRICAN MEMOIR (*EJ Muller) was hanging out from the 400m. c) PEACE OF MIND (*S Bungane) was hanging out and shifted out from the 200m, was corrected and then shifted in leaving the 100m. d) Jockey C Zackey reported that MAJOR APOLLO, which raced in isolation on the outside of the racecourse, choked up in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) Jockey C Little reported that CATCH A PENNY, which was hanging in in the latter stages, choked up in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. f) RATTLESNAKE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass was advised.
