THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) SMANGALISO'S GAL (*EJ Muller) was stubborn loading and slow into stride.
b) BOMBER STREAM (*W Fourie) jumped awkwardly with its head up, losing two lengths.
c) BOSSY LADY (*B Soodoo) and TITTLEMOUSE (ZIM) (R Fourie) were slow into stride.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (12h20)
b) Permission was granted for ALLEYAH'S ROCKET (Y Ramzan) to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start.
c) BOSSY LADY (*B Soodoo) took an awkward stride shortly after the start.
d) HERE COMES JOHNNY (A Fortune) was hanging out from the 300m and was corrected shortly before the finish.
e) GUTSY BABY (*N Nastili) was hanging in from the 250m.
f) At approximately the 200m BOSSY LADY (*B Soodoo) was steadied momentarily to avoid running onto the heels of ALESIAN BEAU (C Little), which was hanging out from the 250m.
g) Jockey R Fourie reported that TITTLEMOUSE (ZIM) choked up in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
h) Apprentice B Soodoo reported that BOSSY LADY did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
i) Jockey Y Ramzan was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.11 in that he pulled ALLEYAH'S ROCKET up abruptly instead of easing it up gradually after finishing the race. Jockey Y Ramzan signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1000.00.
j) WINTERONTHEGREEN, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised. (LM)
k) MAGNUS THE GOOD, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer F Jacobs, acting on behalf of Trainer DG Smith, was advised. (LM)
