THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LANA VIEW (M Yeni) jumped awkwardly. b) CANFORD'S BEAUTY (X Ndlovu) jumped outwards. c) ONE SUMMER (Y Ramzan) jumped inwards. d) NIGHT IN JAPAN (*N Nastili) jumped slow, losing three lengths. e) WITCHING HOUR (A Fortune) stumbled leaving the stalls, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (13h28) b) LYRICS AND SONGS (M van Rensburg) refused to parade and was led by a Handler from the 2000m. Trainer WGC Miller was cautioned that should this filly behave in a similar manner in future engagements, she may be suspended. c) Shortly after the start, CANFORD'S BEAUTY (X Ndlovu), which jumped outwards and ONE SUMMER (Y Ramzan), which jumped inwards, brushed. d) ONE SUMMER (Y Ramzan) over raced in the early and middle stages. e) AM STILL WINNING (C Maujean) took an awkward stride at the 400m. Trainer JVA Strydom was advised to report back should he find something amiss with this filly on her return to the stables. f) ONE SUMMER (Y Ramzan) shifted out away from the crop from the 300m. g) In view of the performance of DREAM TEAM (MK Katjedi), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer SB Kotzen was advised to report back should she find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables. h) In view of the report from the Starter regarding NIGHT IN JAPAN (*N Nastili), this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable to jump on terms with a companion. (Suspension dates: 07/02/2026 to 13/02/2026 inclusive) NIGHT IN JAPAN may not be presented for re-passing during this period. i) Jockey C Little was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that as the rider of LEBOMBO GOLD he misused his crop by striking LEBOMBO GOLD more than 12 times (13) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Jockey C Little signed an admission of guilt and was fined R2000,00. j) LEBOMBO GOLD, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
