En route to the start MYSTERIOUS ERIK (S Moodley) cast the right front shoe which was replaced by the course farrier at the start. This gelding was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to race. Thereafter, during the loading process, CAPTAIN'S DYNASTY (C F Dicken) became restless in the stalls. This gelding was released from the stalls, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. These incidents led to a delay to the start of this race. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CAPTAIN'S DYNASTY (C F Dicken) rushed the front gates, was released, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. b) RUNTHRUTHEJUNGLE (J Jacobs) and MYSTERIOUS ERIK (S Moodley) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (JN) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) Leaving the 1000m OXFORD ROAD (*S Bungane) was carried out by RUNTHRUTHEJUNGLE (J Jacobs) which over-raced in the early and middle stages and rolled out away from the heels of SIYAVUYA (N Patel). Thereafter OXFORD ROAD (S Bungane) raced wide around the turn. c) Entering the straight LEVITATOR (K Matsunyane) was inconvenienced when awkwardly placed on the heels of RUNTHRUTHEJUNGLE (J Jacobs) which rolled out and was corrected. d) CAPTAIN'S DYNASTY (C F Dicken) shifted out away from the crop in the concluding stages. e) Jockeys N Patel (SIYAVUYA), S Moodley (MYSTERIOUS ERIK) and C Habib (NORIEGA) reported that their respective mounts took no interest in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) In view of the performance of LEVITATOR (K Matsunyane) (7.35 lengths, 16/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. g) TAKEYOURBESTSHOT (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer T Ryan acting on behalf of Trainer M J Odendaal was advised (MM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) SIYAVUYA raced equipped with blinkers (advised 04.02.2026/08h15). b) NORIEGA raced equipped with blinkers, without cheek pieces (advised 04.02.2026/08h17). c) MYSTERIOUS ERIK raced fitted with a tongue tie (advised 05.02.2026/06h34). d) Apprentice M Mbuto (claiming 2.5kg) was the rider of ROY'S GLORIOUS (advised 04.02.2026/08h24).
