THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FYFIELD LEGEND (M Yeni) and HIGH RIDER (J Gates) were re-saddled at the start, causing a delay. b) TRIGGER WARNING (C Little) was stubborn loading. c) HIGH RIDER (J Gates) was stubborn loading and slow into stride. d) RULES OF CONDUCT (R Fourie) was stubborn loading and jumped slow, losing one length. e) FYFIELD LEGEND (M Yeni) was nervous in the stalls. f) FUTUROLOGIST (C Zackey) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (11h45) b) Shortly after the start HIGH RIDER (J Gates), which jumped slightly outwards, made contact with TRIGGER WARNING (C Little), which jumped inwards. c) FYFIELD LEGEND (M Yeni) and RULES OF CONDUCT (R Fourie) came together and brushed shortly after the start. d) FUTUROLOGIST (C Zackey) refused to negotiate the turn, raced wide into the straight, was hanging in from the 400m and was not persevered with from the 150m. Thereafter Jockey C Zackey reported that, in his opinion, this colt was shin sore. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer DG Smith was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this colt on his return to the stables. e) RULES OF CONDUCT (R Fourie) raced green and was hanging in from the 250m. f) TRIGGER WARNING (C Little) raced green. g) Jockey M Yeni reported that FYFIELD LEGEND made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. h) TRIGGER WARNING, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised.
