THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CURTISS CONDOR (R Fourie) was nervous in the stalls and jumped awkwardly. b) BURNING MAN (C Little) jumped awkwardly. c) GARDEN SUN (C Maujean) fly-jumped leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (15h26) b) ORANJEMUND (Y Ramzan) was buffeted between ASINANTANGA (C Zackey), which jumped outwards and CURTISS CONDOR (R Fourie), which jumped inwards shortly after the start. In this incident, the hindquarters of ASINANTANGA (C Zackey) were turned inwards. c) CURTISS CONDOR (R Fourie) and HENRY'S HEDGE (L Mxothwa) over raced in the early and middle stages. d) ASINANTANGA (C Zackey) and BURNING MAN (C Little) raced wide on the turn and into the straight. e) ROTOTO (MK Katjedi) was carried out by CURTISS CONDOR (R Fourie), which shifted out between the 350m and the 150m. f) GARDEN SUN (C Maujean) shifted out continuously away from the crop from the 250m. g) GLOBAL DRUMBEAT (M Yeni) shifted out away from the crop from the 350m. Thereafter, GLOBAL DRUMBEAT (M Yeni) continued to shift outwards and carried CURTISS CONDOR (R Fourie) out for a number of strides from the 150m. As a consequence, GLOBAL DRUMBEAT (M Yeni) and CURTISS CONDOR (R Fourie) brushed on a number of occasions between the 100m and the finish. Jockey M Yeni appeared before the Board and was advised to take stronger measures to correct his mounts when they are shifting ground. h) CURTISS CONDOR, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
