THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CROWNED HORNBILL (*N Nastili) jumped slow, losing two lengths. b) CHOCOLATE BOMB (S Naidoo) stumbled leaving the stalls. c) NORTH STAR (R Fourie), WHATEVER NEXT (K Minnie) and BASINGSTOKE (J Gates) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (16h00) b) LARIUS LACUS (L Mxothwa) cast its right front shoe proceeding to the start, which was replaced, causing a delay. c) CROWNED HORNBILL (*N Nastili) was eased in anticipation of racing onto the heels of WHATEVER NEXT (K Minnie), which commenced to shift inwards at approximately the 800m. d) NORTH STAR (R Fourie) was hanging out from the 200m. e) Jockey X Ndlovu reported that TAIL OF THE COMET changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. f) Trainer AC Greeff was charged with a contravention of Rule 8.3.1 in that he failed to have available the registered colours of the owner/s of TAIL OF THE COMET. Trainer AC Greeff signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R250.00. g) CHOCOLATE BOMB, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer DG Smith was advised.
